Surat-based B2B textile startup Fantail raises ₹13.75 crore in seed funding from Riverwalk Holdings, Incubate Fund Asia, and All In Capital. Founded in 2023 by Ramya Iyer, Fantail aims to modernize textile manufacturing for SMEs in Surat by upgrading equipment, enhancing production systems, and improving supply chain efficiency. The funds will support technology-driven processes to boost quality, speed, and global competitiveness, positioning Surat as a hub for advanced textile manufacturing.

Seed Funding to Support Textile SMEs

Surat-based B2B textile startup Fantail has secured ₹13.75 crore (approximately $1.6 million) in a seed funding round. The investment was led by Riverwalk Holdings, with participation from Incubate Fund Asia and All In Capital. This marks Fantail’s first institutional funding, aimed at strengthening small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Surat’s textile sector.

Enhancing Production for Small Businesses

Founded in 2023 by Ramya Iyer, a textile industry veteran with a decade of experience in Surat, Fantail focuses on improving the textile manufacturing process. The startup collaborates with weavers, mills, and processors to manage the entire supply chain, from yarn to finished garments. The fresh capital will be used to upgrade equipment, train workers, and enhance production systems for partner SMEs, enabling faster and more efficient order fulfillment.

Addressing Industry Challenges

Fantail seeks to modernize Surat’s largely unorganized textile sector by introducing technology-driven processes. Many local manufacturers rely on outdated methods, which limit their ability to scale or meet large orders. Fantail’s model emphasizes structured operations, improved quality control, and optimized resource use to make SMEs more reliable and competitive, both in India and globally.

A Vision for Manufacturing 2.0

“Surat’s textile ecosystem has immense potential, but timing and efficiency are critical in B2B markets,” said Ramya Iyer, founder of Fantail. “We’re building systems to help local manufacturers adopt modern practices and compete on a global stage.” The startup aims to reduce supply chain delays and ensure high-quality production, positioning Surat as a hub for advanced textile manufacturing, often referred to as “Manufacturing 2.0.”
