India has experienced a remarkable surge in EV sales, with numbers nearly doubling in 2023, as per data from Counterpoint Research. Projections indicate a further 66 percent growth this year, driven by factors such as growing consumer interest, supportive government policies, and ongoing infrastructure development initiatives.
Kant advocates for a strategic pivot towards localized manufacturing to meet the escalating demand for EVs, particularly emphasizing the need for megawatt-hour charging solutions tailored for buses and commercial vehicles. Taking to a microblogging platform, he called upon EV players and startups to collaborate in establishing an interoperable fast-charging network, stressing its pivotal role in bolstering the nationwide EV movement.
